The Govee Community and the ability to share DIYs has been a huge part of the success of Govee products. By being able to browse DIYs that people have created makes it very easy to quickly setup a scene. Follow these steps to find a DIY from the community that fits your needs.

1. In the Govee App, navigate to the Explore tab using the World Icon along the bottom of the app.
2. Select your device that you want to search for DIYs for, then scroll down to the “DIY Videos” section and click More.
3. Scroll down to browse the DIYs or use the search bar to search for a keyword for the type of DIY you are looking for.
4. When you find a DIY that you like, click on apply to preview that DIY on your lights. If you like it, click on Save.

Recommended for Organization

If you have a lot of saved DIYs, you will have a lot of DIYs that will say “From <Name of Creator>”. Follow these steps to make it easier to know which DIY is which.

1. The Saved DIYs will be found in the DIYs section. Navigate to the the DIY Page for your product.
2. Click on the Pencil icon to go to the Edit screen.
3. For each Saved DIY, click on the Pencil Icon to edit it.
4. Adjust the DIY Name for something that you find appropriate and recognizable.

This will make it easier for when you are trying to select a DIY when you are setting up automations.

I also like to organize my DIYs into Groups based on the type of product that they were created for. This is due to DIYs sometimes not looking the same on different products.

Troubleshooting

DIY Doesn’t Look Right

DIYs are created with the specific layout that the designer made. When it comes to Outdoor Permanent Lights people may notice that sometimes DIYs look wrong. This is due to a mismatch in the length of lights between your setup and the designer’s lights. This can cause things like designs doubling up and not looking the same in general.

I highly suggest learning to create your own DIYs so you can learn to set up your own designs that work best for your own personal layouts.
